A poem about the last tree in Newcastle Emlyn.

Old oak tree, what have you seen?

Stars, birds, blue, sky, the sun, the moon.

Old oak tree, what have you seen?

leaves, foxes, green, frogs, rain, lightning.

Old oak tree, what have you seen?

Fire, fleeing, red, orange and yellow.

Old oak tree, what have you seen?

Metal, men, grey, axes, smoke, firewood.

Old oak tree, I’ll be back tomorrow.

People, cars, cats, dogs, houses…home…

Old oak tree, where are you?

Where have you gone?

I’m going home to tell mother.

People, cars, cats, dogs, houses….a truck driving away, with the old oak tree….
